Puppy?? excuse me now but that to me looks like a adult Corgi who has been completely trained already!!! and rewarding the dog for chewing the leash? ahm no i want my puppy to stop doing that not encouraging him to do it!!!! i had a go with this with my puppy but she wont move when the leash is on, and if she does shell only walk like 2 or 3 minutes and then shell sit down and look at me and i try tugging the lead she walk backwards!! ahhmmm experts? i dont think so!!
She does not reward the puppy for chewing on the leash! The dog chews –> she calls his name –> dog looks at her (stops chewing!!) –> reward for not chewing, but looking at her (She calls it the name game)
Of course you have to reward your puppy when he/she is walking on a loose leash! If you don’t the puppy will learn to chew, stop chewing for a few seconds, eat the treat and start the whole process again.
trade the leash for a treat? More like reward the dog for chewing…she is not a good trainer

This video is nothing more than basic advise. It does nothing for training a human on the techniques needed to walk a puppy. Also, rewarding the dog for chewing on the leash is just going to create more problems when walking in the future.

When I first put my puppy on the leash she freaked out she was like three months old now she is six months old and she doesn’t care anymore she just needs to learn how to not all of a sudden jump in front of me lol

Thats NOT how my dog did when i did it the first time! My dog spread his two front legs a good distance and stood still! I finally got him to move towards me. I wanted some tips but all these videos have already trained dogs. Luckily I got him trained in time to go on family vacation with us! It took me just a few days to train him. I just hate leaving him with a sitter!
My new baby’s name is Mojo as well! Y’all are so critical… just move on.
